Clear cache & cookies with Google Chrome

Chrome and other browsers use a cache and cookies to save data from websites.  Clearing the cache and deleting cookies can fix certain problems, such as site loading and formatting issues.     

On a computer

  1. In Chrome
  2. On your computer, open Chrome.
  3. At the top right, click MorePlus
  4. Click More tools and then Clear browsing data.
  5. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
  6. Tick the "Cookies and site data" and "Cached images and files" boxes.
  7. Click Clear data.

On a tablet or an Android phone

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. At the top right, tap More Plus.
  3. Tap History and then Clear browsing data.
  4. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
  5. Next to "Cookies and site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes..
  6. Tap Clear data.

What happens after you clear this info?

After you clear cache and cookies:

  • Some settings on sites get deleted. For example, if you were signed in, you’ll need to sign in again.
